nostalgia prone

my mind starts to drift away
longing for days, still in phase
I'd best start the fire before
this Bacchanalia meets vertigo

we happened upon it, a run-on shot at sonnet
so he wrote

reliance on interstates
a commonplace escapist fate
what of a distance marks "safe and sound"
this bad faith cartography
disguises my atrophy

lessons of this impermanence
but I'll say "you never know"
